As a pianist, conductor, composer and teacher, Franz Liszt was a commuter between worlds throughout his life, a true European who crossed borders in every respect, redefining them again and again and overcoming them in many areas. His work is the epitome of openness and renewal as well as a model for many greats in music history.

"My only ambition as a musician was and is to hurl my spear into the infinite spaces of the future!" (Franz Liszt)

Under the directorship of Eduard and Johannes Kutrowatz, the Liszt Festival Raiding has developed into the world's most important performance venue for the works of Franz Liszt. The Liszt Centre Raiding, with its architecturally award-winning and acoustically outstanding concert hall and the adjacent museum in the historic Liszt birthplace, is probably one of the most internationally interesting cultural venues. The Liszt Festival Raiding presents world-class pianists and world-class singers, leading choirs and top orchestras as well as ingenious border crossers of music.

In October, the Liszt Festival 2021 will start its second round after the summer. A programme kaleidoscope of orchestral sounds, piano and song recitals and breathtaking border-crossing music promises extraordinary concerts in autumn. The audience can expect top-class interpretations with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, piano highlights with Pavel Kachnov and Kateryna Titova, musical-virtuoso superlatives by Wieder, Gansch & Paul and the ensemble ALMA. A song recital with Elisabeth Kulman and Eduard Kutrowatz on the 210th birthday of Franz Liszt is also on the programme. Chamber music at its finest is provided by the three brothers of the Eggner Trio and a masterful festival finale with the Orchestra Wiener Akademie.
