The philosophy of the Woerthersee Classic Festival is unique: Gustav Mahler, Alban Berg, Anton von Webern, Johannes Brahms and Hugo Wolf stayed and created at the picturesque Wörthersee - the inspiration of the province of Carinthia flowed through them all. Since 2002, the important works of these composers have been performed to the delight of the audience. In order to give the festival a wider range, the incentive of Otto Böhler's Schattenbilder - specifically Brahms' Arrival in Heaven - was used to bring a broader spectrum of composers to life. The focus is on creating a balance between classical compositions, commissioned works for the festival and at the same time specific tributes related to Carinthian artists.

Twenty years of loyalty - to the steep distinctive concept, the uncompromising artistic line, the multi-faceted design of the event and the consistent implementation of undisputed quality. The audience figures speak for themselves and the cultural world is open to our further plans.
